A strategy game for four
Quaternity is a four-player board strategy game. If you already know chess, you'll recognise the pieces — but the board, the number of players and the way you think through each game are different.

A 12×12 board
Quaternity is played on a 12×12-square board, larger than a traditional chessboard, designed to fit four armies playing at once.

Four players, four armies
Unlike chess, Quaternity is played by four people at the same time, each with their own army. This completely changes how you calculate threats, alliances and turns.

How a game unfolds
Each player moves their army in turns, just like in chess, but with four fronts open at once. The full rulebook lives in Rules — this is just the general idea to get you started.

Familiar pieces, new context
Quaternity reuses recognisable pieces from classical chess, but their strategic value changes when played on a larger board with four simultaneous armies.

A different strategic experience
Thinking in four directions at once, instead of just one, is what makes Quaternity a different mindsport: it's not enough to calculate against a single opponent, you have to read the whole board.
